I’m worried I may have a male?!

What I can't understand is how someone won't give it a second thought to grab a pack of chicken at a store to feed themselves and loved ones, but can't process and eat their own home raised high quality chicken. The store bird leads a miserable life in squalid conditions and was processed by illegal aliens that don't really care for the birds or sanitation on the processing line. Even if you don't care about any of that, if you ever taste the the difference between a full grown bird and a 1 1/2 month old baby, you'll find the grown bird tastes like chicken is supposed to, but the store bought 5-6 week old baby has no flavor, or worse, it tastes like cheap fake chicken bullion.
Because the chicken in the store wasn’t raised as a pet.

I just had this happen to my first Amerucana who I named Lady Kluck from Robin Hood. Unfortunately Lord Kluck just started crowing and humping. I couldn’t put him down or keep him. So I took handsome pictures and posted him as a gorgeous healthy hand raised Roo. I sold him for $400 to another small flock owner. They send me photographs from time to time. :)
Four HUNDRED dollars? For a CHICKEN????

It has to mean $40.... and in your case I would advise against even that. But you can say $40.00/negotiable to a good home.

Fingers crossed you find him a great home quick! :clap

Aside from the $400.00 price, you absolutely will find him a home posting as a hand raised and well cared for bird.

So that you don’t have more heartache and have to get rid of all the birds, my advice is to rip the bandaid and get posting tonight since you’ve gotten all the confirmation you need! ;) :hit
