I recently purchased four Seramas. ( 2 pullets, 1 hen and 1 rooster) Just now, I realized that these are not pure Seramas as I was told. I love these sweet birds but I’m upset. It’s my own fault, really, for not being completely up to speed on the breed. I was not aware that a true Serama will have only a single comb. I paid a decent price for them and I feel so stupid now. I’m reading up on the breed and starting my search for true Seramas now. Here’s a picture of my handsome roo and his poor, pecked comb. Anyone have a guess on what he could be mixed with?

Maybe Sebright? That comb looks a bit like a rose comb
I was told his rose comb made him a “rare” Serama. I feel so silly for falling for it! I talked to the lady I purchased from and she said she wasn’t aware either and that’s how her original flock was sold to her. She mentioned that she also purchased a Kikiriki from the same person and that she is now questioning if the lady mixed them. That would definitely explain the comb.
