I-25 Egg Train

@alpinefarm I know of someone in the Denver area with a broody Silkie she wants to put eggs under, can you let me know where and when you will be in the area and how much you want for them so I can communicate the information to her? Or PM me for information on how to contact her yourself, either will be fine.

I am driving from Pueblo to Denver Tech Center next Tuesday the 19th before dawn, staying one night and coming home late afternoon the 20th after teaching a class, in case anyone needs transportation for eggs or birds or anything else that fits in my car.

Hi,
I'm new but I have a question. I live in Northern New Mexico (the Farmington area- about 30 minutes from Durango). I just found a FABULOUS coop on craiglist, but it's in Leadville. I'm single and I drive a small Toyota, and I really don't know anyone with a truck and trailer. I put a deposit down on it because it's a great deal and I *want* this coop and run. I know this thread is for eggs/chickens- but is there anyone interested in helping me get it from point A to point B? I'd pay for gas, lunch... plus something for your trouble (to be worked out ahead of time). The lady selling it told me that the chickens were a project for her kids, but now they aren't taking care of them and she's tired of doing it. I don't really want them... so free chickens also if you want. If not I'll find them homes locally. Anyone interested?

Possibly in the next month. How big is the coop? Run? Would it already be taken down if there is a set date? How many chickens to travel with? I don't want the chickens... Need a bit more info...
Oh yeah,

...!

I tried to include a link to the craigslist ad but the moderator didn't like outside links for selling/buying things. Oops. Not my intent with the ad... but here's a quote from the ad. I'll see if I can enclose a picture as well. "Enclosed coop is 7ft x 4'2". Total area of enclosed space (including coop) 7ft x 14'7". Height is over 5'6" at tallest section." It can be separated (the coop from the run). If no one wants the chickens I can have the owner finds homes for them locally before I come for the coop. And yes/no on it being somewhat disassembled... I may meet you up there, because I'll need to see how it goes back together. She says her husband will take it apart though. But you can come at a later time after it is already in sections?

In the interest of more careful transportation of eggs, I thought I would find out whether there is any interest in creating an I-25 Egg Train. I have been the recipient of many hatching eggs via USPS in the last year, and some shipments were handled so poorly the shipper may as well have flung the eggs at the wall before wrapping them; others were just fine and hatched well.

If you are near I-25 and would be interested in participating, please reply and let me know the approximate area you would be able to cover. Once I have a few replies I'll create a map of the area covered and see if we have enough to move some eggs!

I am off exit 83 of I-25 in Pueblo, CO and can drive from here South to Colorado City occasionally, and from here North to Fountain 5 days a week, further North to Colorado Springs a couple of times a month, and East of I-25 to Falcon once a month.

HI
I came upon this wonderful thread! Im wondering if you still participatin the meet along I 25? I am looking for hatching eggs since one of my hens is broody now. Thank you!
