I love America and everything is stands for. It is, however, not what it once was, but I'm hoping it will start to get better. Anything can change!

My husband has been "over there" more than I'd like to think about, missing both of my son's first birthday's, first steps, etc. I don't think everyone here should LOVE it, but it should be RESPECTED. Anytime I here some blowhard talkign smack about how "awful" it is here, I kindly say, "You're welcome. My husband fights for your right to be unhappy."

As a woman and a minority, I am happy it isn't what it once was.​

Not everything needs to regrees, in my opinion and for obvious reasons! I would, however, enjoy a slower-paced way of life and and overall sense of pride in ourselves, our work and our country.

I can get on board with that!
I also wish we had manufacturing, and more farmers here in the us like we use to. that is what help lead us to an age of prosperity.

Ya know, we have had alot of hate going around in the media, politics, and even the people these days. But let us never forget our commonality, we are Americans first and foremost. Lets take a step back when we get heated with eachother and realise we are more the same than different, and our differences are what make us Americans. We can be some of the most stubborn, loud, obnoxious people on earth

But thats only because we stand for our values firmly with resolve and passion. Thank you all for sharing your different beliefs, values and our common love of american on here. Lets not forget, America is not great because we have money, power, or friends. Lets show the world we are great because our people are resilient, hard working and tolerant.

I love America and I love being an American. There are many countries out there that are just as good as America, but are different. I don't think there are any countries that are better than America. I won't make any comments about what America stands for. Americas stands for whatever you want it to stand for. Anybody that professes to know what America stands for is just projecting what they want it to stand for.

I've lived here 52 years and it's still the same place I grew up in. We are much more advanced and tolerant. We no longer make people ride on the back of the bus or drink from separate water fountains. Intolerance and discrimination are not tolerated as they used to be. Our people are much closer to being equal than they ever have been.

Our political system has it's problems. No doubt about that. Our media system has a lot of problems, but that is part of living in a free society. All I can say is pay attention to what is actually going on around you instead of what the media portrays. It's always been about money and it always will be.

I like to think of America as a shining beacon giving hope to those less fortunate. Including those in our country. I hope we don't turn into a me first screw everyone else society. That is where some would certainly like to take us to.
