Floppy broody made it a whole week on the nest. I'm thinking of thinking about candling sometime in the next week or two. I don't see her off the nest at all like I did last spring. She is stuck on like a bandaid.

And we are starting to molt.

Hm. Apparently it’s been sitting on my parent’s deck all day, spooking when anyone got close to it but always coming back to the deck.
He took off when I was trying to bait him into a wire cage. Circled the lake a few times and then flew over the trees. Hopefully he figured out which way was home.

He also attempted to land in the lake.. twice?! Flopped in the water for a second before getting airborne again.

For what it’s worth, I was fully prepared to swim in after a braindead waterlogged pigeon.

If he's coming to the deck - some seeds, a cardboard box propped on a stick with a string attached....

Thank you! I waited for quite a while but he didn’t come back, my mom will keep an eye out.
Rewatched the video she sent me and realized he had two bands, a green and a grey. Didn’t notice the grey in person. No idea what that means.
All I have is these bad video screenshots lol. Only real CSI work here.
