➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

From what little I know, some domestic ducks have been developed (selected) to lay like chickens (most of the year). Wild ducks are seasonal? Similar to chickens, you have wild, meat and egg layer varieties.

I agree. I will have ducks. Eventually. Sometime in the future.
All the wild birds are seasonal. Including the red jungle fowl the chicken ancester.

View attachment 1325188 @sphillips - time to water the grass, eh? Mighty fine looking bean too!

I was buzzed by Eastern Bluebirds while walking the chickens this evening. 3 eggs in the nest box!!! Can't wait. I got a broody! @Ursuline Chick I got a broody!

See if I can get a better picture later this week. The Bluebirds were up on the high wire and look like little dots. Nest box in the lower left on the fence post.
Oh my. You are going to have 3 itty bitties?

Awe:love you have a mini horse and I have a mini dog! I have two real horses too.

Anyone here ever think about using one if these fridges as a dual Hatcher and Incubator?
I'm thinking the left side ( smaller) would be great for hatching, and right side for incubator. The right side is bigger and gives more room for a big turning rack and motor.
Sadly had no luck finding another chest freezer. The family friend scrapped it. Said he was sorry he thought he could take it since it was outside.

Sounds like a great idea using a fridge.
I am still eyeballing my extra/older non draining dishwasher.
