I have this nostalgia thing for the bobwhite-I lost my dad 4 years ago and he used to raise bobwhites when I was a kid.
Guess that's the reason I'm stuck on the bobwhites-connection to my dad.

That's great to have a connection like that. Lol hubby was asking me to hatch some bobwhites and he wants those be his birds! So we may end up dipping into them also!

Yeah, that permit to raise bobwhite in Texas is $80-I did a bit of research on it yesterday.
My husband said that the National Quail Federation will help people get set up, I guess as sort of a conservation type thing. We may go that route-espectially of they provide the birds. Those bobwhites ain't cheap(even the eggs aren't).

I got my NPIP last July-easy thing to do. Are you getting the exhibition permit or just the testing part done?
The exhibition/sale permit allows you to sell birds from your property and allows you to show your birds.
I will keep you posted on the Quail Federation thing-gotta do more research on that, too.
Do ya'll have quail in that part of Texas still? The blasted fire ants have about done away with them in this part of the State.
