Found this thread about two weeks ago and just now got caught up. I've been trying to make my animals pay for themselves. After figuring everything up last year I only lost about $100. But you guys sure know how to push ( I mean help a guy) over the edge. I mean I'm trying not to buy chickens I can't afford to feed and you guys not only throw out cool chickens to look at, you also throw in ducks, geese, quail and emus. You also throw out places to buy more eggs. My oldest son brings home two broken coolers, so now I have the potential for two more incubators. Then I believe Sonjab throws out this site to buy an incubator that holds 25,000 eggs.
I mean, even with chicken math, think about it. You know you can't leave that baby just setting there. That means that you have to have almost 1200 eggs a day. At appx 60% laying rate you need 2000 chickens. Not to mention several hundred roosters. I'm only getting about 20 eggs a day.
Now, do you see where I'm at. I need more chickens.
