So, my friend decided to sign up for a 1/2 marathon in October - but she is starting training now. I wanted to get back into running, so I told her I would help her train. We meet once a week and go running together. Well, ok, for right now it is walk, run, walk - but we're working on it! ANYway, I kinda caught the fever and started wondering if I could run a 1/2 marathon? So, I have decided that I am indeed going to go for it! The race I picked to run is at the end of July. The end of June I plan on running a 6 mile race - to get the hang of running in a race. I will probably have to pace myself run a mile walk 1/2 a mile or something like that; but I have 3 supporters who will be training and running with me. I cannot believe that I am really going to do this - but at the same time, I am Really very excited!!! Thanks for letting me randomly ramble on about this new turn in my life. Any other runners out there with any words of wisdom they'd like to share?

That is great! A girl I went to HS with is running in the Boston Marathon this year. I used to run but bad knees stopped that.

DS, 14, caught the running bug last year. He runs both cross country and track for his high school. He does really well on the longer runs.

LOL, I ran a 1/2 once......then you get addicted to crossing the finish lines.....

Three marathons, two 1/2's, three TRI's, 10 or 12 20K, 10k, 15k, and countless 5k's later......I still hate running! (but I LOVE crossing that finish line!)

Oh yes, I am already envisioning that!! LOL. How do you like to train for your races? I have always wanted to be a runner, but just didn't ever do it. I was on the track team in elementary school, and enjoyed it, but never took it any further than that. Last seasons Biggest Looser really made me start thinking - if They can do it, then surely I must be able to do it. And so, here I am.

Thanks so much friends for the support and all, I really do appreciate it!!! I will not let you down, I will run the race and enjoy crossing that finish line. Then, I am going SHOPPING as a reward.
