I am a little concered that Molly is a boy. What do you think?

This is a 6 1/2 weeks old Easter Egger, and she/he seems awfully pretty for a girl...what do you all think? I ave no idea, this is my first flock, and everyday I think at least one of them is a cockerel...I am sure I will be asking the same questions about the others soon

But. It seems like I have heard that that particular coloration of an EE only is found in hens. So, I lean towards girl.

I did not know this. But the tail feathers.....UMMMM
I have 2 EE hens and they do not have those tail feathers,
but I did at one time think they were female because I thought
they had saddle feathers.

I'm going to say pullet. She looks very similar to one I had in my first batch of hatchery EE's. Mine turned out to be the prettiest girl too!! Seriously, The prettiest chicken I have owned and that is absolutely saying something.

No, on second thought, its clearly a cockerel and I'll take him!!

There was actually 2 of them but one got taken by a hawk not too long after this pic. The 2 in back on the left.. The dark head makes them really awesome!

Well, it IS "the pullet coloration," as someone else also posted. So I believe she's a girl.

I agree, the coloration of the body is exclusively female. I have seen easter eggers with this coloration before, and they turn into really gorgeous girls. The tail angle is all breed, and has nothing to do with gender (it probably is a hold over of leghorn crossing at the hatchery for egglaying).
