I am new to owning chickens and new to this website. I have never shown anything but horses before in my life. I have a speckled sussex that I would really love to show but I have NO idea what to look for or how to show. If anyone has any suggestions I would GREATlY appreciate any help. Even if Sally is not show quality I would still like to be educated as much as possible. Thanks to any who can help!!

Don't know about showing, I don't do it.

Hello! Welcome! The first thing you'll want to do is purchase the APA Standard of Perfection. It will get you accustomed to what to look for on your bird, names for parts in the bird, etc. Secondly, I'd go to some shows! You can bring your bird and show but I'd go without them to your first show so youcan see the major differences and talk to some breeders. There's nothing quite like getting hands on with breeders and getting knowledge first hand. Be sure you go to APA
Shows as well as county fairs. You will quickly notice a difference.
