I have had Roody for 4 years. When he was young I thought he was a Silverlaced Wyandotte, but after researching a bit, I discovered that he does not have the correct comb. The hen I got at the same time was a golden-laced wyandotte and she did have the right comb. Anyone know his breed or is he a mix?

To me it looks like a mix, but he is beautiful.
Oh yea, he is pretty

I never did know what he or his sister was. I got the two fertile eggs from a local farm over four years ago and a friend hatched them out for me. He did have a clutch of chicks two years ago and one hen does have a rose comb. (however, the golden laced could have been her mom). I'm not quite sure how all this works. One question... His first clutch, the chicks were either yellow or black (bred with RIR) this clutch, the chicks are all different. Since Roody is a mix, is it possible that different breeds are coming out in these chicks? (Also bred with the same RIR as the first clutch). Sorry for all the questions, just trying to learn

Never seen a Wyandotte with a single Comb , always a rose comb, I guess maybe bad genetics?

I have a wyandotte with a single comb as well as one with a the proper comb. They are hatchery quality and single combs do happen in hq chickens. I think Roody looks to be a mix, too.

I have a hatchery SLW with a single comb. Also had. GLW with it also, but a coon got that one. Gotthem from Townline. I also have one, another silver with the right comb, but her lacing is just awful. More like penciled.
