Last summer, my silkie pair started to lay. So I had an incubator I got from a flea market, and I tried to hatch some eggs. To make a long story short, very few hatched. So last December, [I had 4 incubators then!] I tried again. This time with silkies, turkens, and a few wyandottes and one mutt. Now to make a long story short, I have over 15 young birds and at least 5 dozen eggs in the incubator!! I need help. Every time I get eggs from outside, I look at the egg and it makes me think of Fluffenbutt, the turken chick I am retaining. Then I think, I don't want to eat one of Fluffenbutt's siblings. Then I think of Fluffenbutt crying because I ate her sibling. I know I am weird. So in the incubator the egg goes!! I have a hovabator that is plum full of eggs. I love hatching eggs, but I am worried I won't be able to find good homes for all the chicks. I just put an ebay auction up for eggs, and I have a few people on here who may be buying eggs. It is very stressful for me. Any advice? Are any of you severe hatchaholics?
