Yep, they're sweeties. One of the old 8/9 year olds still lays an egg a day! The rest are freeloaders. 2 brood on NOTHING, and the other just doesn't lay. I've had her for a while now. We got the occasional egg in the WINTER, but nothing now. Never have, never will.
my hens are strange.
We recently got 6 more chicks to liven the coop up a bit. We were especially excited for the 2 polish chickens and a porcelain d'Uccle. My dream breeds! The d'Uccle died, one polish chick is most likely a rooster, and the other is a scissor beak. All the rest are super flighty. Just my luck.
