I probably will start with 6, I need an inexpensive coop, need to find some chicks. I will have to brood them outside as do not have a bathtub or anywhere inside to keep. I will need advise on that.

a pallet size cardboard box from watermelons is an excellent brooder up to 20 chicks up to 1 months

It's possible to brood your chicks in the coop, a lot of people have used the Mama Heating Pad set up to do just that:

I had 21 chickens/roosters at one time. had to liquidate all due to moving to an apt. I am now in a place with a large yard, and my landlord agree to let me get some chickens.

I am north of the Atlanta area in Woodstock, GA if anyone has suggestions for a chicken coop or baby chicks.

I am excited to get addicted to my chickens again!

That’s awesome that your landlord gave you the ok to keeping some chickens. 6 chickens as in 6 hens? Can you eat 35 eggs per week once they start laying? I’m just asking because that is one math problem I didn’t think about when getting so many chickens
