I am getting rescue hens!!!!!!

Yes, I am going to have to get used to the idea that not all chickens are going to run at me full force, skid to a stop, and beg me to pick them up, like my little darlings.

I am hoping that, in time, they will learn they are loved and will be affectionate. However, if they are never comfortable being cuddled, I am fine with that. Just seeing them learn to peck and scratch in the dirt, stretch their wings in the sunshine, and live like a real chicken will be enough. My kids are so excited about them. They are thrilled that we are getting them this way and I know, if the chickens allow it, they will give them all the love they can handle.
