I'm sorry you're having a rough day, it certainly is a lot at one time. I just wanted to pass on a little wisdom I have picked up with my ds' coughing. This child picks up a cough so easily, then it won't go away. The only thing I have found to break it is to set him in the bathroom, sitting on the toilet (lid down), and set the shower to hot. Turn the water on high, and have him sit there until he stops coughing. The steam seems to break it somehow, and usually ds can go back to bed and sleep the rest of the night. I hope this helps, and God Bless.

Run your vaporizer with some eucalyptus oil in the front reservoir; it will aid in loosening the congestion. Also try some vicks on the chest and feet.

DH just told me about your hubby; I told him I already knew about it from here!

I hope you all get better soon. Keep pushing the fluids and try getting some chicken pieces from Niemuth's to make homemade chicken soup..... if the kids will drink hot tea with honey that will help with the congestion as well.

I feel you pain! I have been there so many times myself; it usually happens to me around Christmas time though......

From a friend who works as a Assistant Physician at the ER at our hospital, he said the flu is getting bad and the nights there are so busy. Some had colds and allergies but majority had the nasty flu, the Influenza Type A, as he calls it.

Hope everyone overcome it. DD is sick often with colds and dry coughs but luckily no flu just yet.

For the Hubby with the acid reflux. I just heard of a cheap folk medicine that is supposed to be better than anything that the Dr. can give you for prescription. I heard it on NPR. It is a Persimmon Tea. You Boil some water with Sliced Ginger and a Cinnamon Stick for like 5 or 10 minutes. Then you take it off the stove and plop in the sliced persimmon. The persimmon and ginger are both sliced into round slices like a tomato. Peel the ginger first.

Then refrigerate like Iced Tea. Hubby takes a shot glass full in the AM and one in the PM.

Hope this helps. If you can find the Persimmon supposedly you can make this for like $3 a batch as opposed to the cost of the nexium or prilosec they sell you.

P.S. This is just a folk remedy to try, not trying to overrule anyone's Dr. Or medical advice!

Thanks everyone for your kind, reassuring words. Today was much better. See my other post.
