No, NOT the one whose dog killed my chickens.....
Warning: I am definately feeling sorry for myself, so if you're not in the mood for it, don't read this!
On my days off, I let the goats out in the yard for a couple hours. They stick around the front of the house and on my porch or follow me around if I am outside. I have never seen them go farther up the driveway to the other end of the duplex where the "caretaker" lives. The entrance to his apt is on the opposite END of the building (not on the side).
Anyhow, his crackhead, drunk girlfriend was apperently wandering around and the goats followed her back to that end of the building where for some unknown reason, she propped the screen door open and proceeded to pass out.
Two 2 month old baby goats went bouncing around all over his apt, pooping and peeing and of course, the BED is the favorite spot.
I saw him driving down the driveway earlier this afternoon and he gave me a dirty look. I figured he had a fight with the GF or maybe it had something to do with the sheriff that was looking for him yesterday with a warrent or summons or something. Well, he came back a couple hours later, drunk as hell and banged on my door and proceeded to tell me that my animals would have to go and I couldn't be having all these dogs and goats and chickens and that HE has the ear of the landlord and since the landlord didn't have the balls to say anything to me, HE would. Funny thing is that he is living here rent free because of an agreement with the previous owner of the property. He is supposed to be doing grounds maintenance, but has not been keeping up with it. While I doubt he has any actual clout, if he complains, the landlord may change his mind about me being able to have my animals. He IS from New Jersey. (new landlord, just bought the place less than a year ago)
I apologized for the goats and said I wouldn't let them loose anymore and offered to clean, pay for a maid service or whatever and he said no, he already cleaned it up. He DID admit that if the door hadn't been propped open, which should not have been done, and he says he kicked the GF out. (yeah, that will last till the next time he goes back to the bar and meets up with her again) He complained about my dogs barking. I have been living here for over 2 years and it wasn't until the 2 houses up the hill (new landlord's sister and neice in one and GF in the other)got dogs that bark. They bark and it sets mine off. Mine howl at sirens and that sets those dogs off. Then he complains that I am keeping the dogs in a pen and that is no life for them. My 2 outdoor dogs are in a pen that is built 1/2 in the woods and 1/2 in the yard. It is about 50x100 ft with an attached 6x8 heated doghouse. This is for 2 dogs. In an area where most people keep dogs either chained or in those 6x10ft chain link kennels.
So I am looking for a new place to live. It figures, everytime I get all the bills caught up and maybe might be able to put some in the bank, something expensive happens. If it's not vehicle repairs, having to pay security deposit, utility hook ups etc on a new place will wipe it out again. i just can;t seem to get ahead.
I can't give up my animals!
I have no friends here. (why do you think I spend so much time online?)I hate going anywhere social alone and with DH out of town so much, I never meet anyone except people that ride the horses and they are just passing through. The people I work with are either the kind of people who just don't do the same things I like to do or I don't really want to hang out with. The few that I do share interests with, my boss is so paranoid that if he sees anybody getting friendly, he manages to drive a wedge between them in any one of a dozen ways. SO co-workers are not an option.
So anyway, my animals are my only friends or family. They are what keeps me sane. If I have to give them up I just won't have anything left.
