Hi,

Only one out my three ladies is alive and I would like to buy new hens for my coop, she cannot be alone!!! Do you know any place in MA, RI or around here where I can buy some? I am looking for a cold resistant breed with a good egg productivity.

Are you looking for older pullets or chicks? Since you mentioned RI in your first post I'm guessing you're towards SE MA. I know Ventura Grain is getting chicks into June. Not long ago they got in 500 red sex link chicks. Call before you go since their shipments are going fast.

I'm towards NH and Dodge Grain in Salem NH is supposed to get some 8 week olds in starting 5/19. You would have to check with them to see if that's still on schedule. Hatcheries are mostly sold out of their juvenile birds.

Other than that you could try craigslist. Someone in Uxbridge supposedly has various pullets for sale.

edited to add: If you are interested in some of those 500 red sex link chicks from Ventura they are coming in May 13.
