Belize is a providence of the UK and yes, you can own property there. You can own in mexico as well but they have a law that you can't own so many miles from the beach. I ain't living in Mexico, no way! I will stick with Belize

Formerly a providence of the UK. Surrounded by Guatemala and Mexico. I showed your post to my Mexican national employee. His quote: "This person is not correct. At any time any level of the government can change the rules to suit them. Depends on the amount of bribes they want to pay to keep what they have." "The worse the economy gets there the more they have to pay." "I will have to pay more bribe money to keep my farm safe from the drugs" "They want to take my farm". "Americans have no rights here, they are foreigners and that will never change". "It is our country, and our culture is much different than yours". "This person should do research before she moves from America". "I would not come here unless I had to, would more rather be with my wife and children"...

I have researched Belize alot!

With a stable political democracy, consistent increases in tourist arrivals since 1998, a currency pegged to the US dollar, miles and miles of sandy beaches and the largest barrier reef in the Western hemisphere, Belize promises to be one of the strongest emerging markets in which to invest. The timing is right and Belize is beginning to attract real estate investors attracted by the potential for capital appreciation in the "New Caribbean".

There are no barriers to foreign investment and, as a member of the British Commonwealth, Belize has a legal system based on British law and is the only English speaking country in Central America. In addition, Belize has no capital gains or inheritance taxes and a growing private offshore banking sector. It takes little imagination to see where the Belize property market is heading

Nobody here want's to live in filthy Mexico. I wouldn't even visit mexico , just heard to much stuff from my mexican friends. Tell your friend then to go back. You can make money in mexico if your educated~ Let me guess..............HUMMMMM

Wait a minute there, I don't think Mexico is any filthier than a lot of places in the US. I don't know what part of Mexico you are judging it by, but my experience has been the people can live as clean as they want to be or as dirty as they want to be, no matter where they are.

This is totally true , i lived in San diego and that border was scary! The whole drug, health, goverment makes it plain ol filthy~ That's what i meant cause i know some parts are beautiful. It's just the whole corruption and such makes it such an ugly place to live. My friends were from TJ, the most scariest hell whole on the earth. I couldn't believe the drugs and dirty cops, but dang they made a great fish taco~

Education does not mean you can make money in Mexico, it does not mean squat in Mexico right now. Mexico is a beautiful country physically, but the politics and the rule of the drug lords means that only those on the good side of the politicians and drug lords will make money, and most of them don't seem to see the need for an education when drug money comes so easily.

I've lived on the Mexican Border for most of my life, you can't really understand what happens on it unless you do live on it. It sounds like you have your mind made up on where you want to go and you feel that you know all you need to know, no matter what. All we can say from here on out is good luck to you.

This is sarcasm, right?

Sarcasm sorta.

If we could do it without thousands of people getting killed would it be a bad thing?

I served 20 + years in the US Military, (retired from the AF) and I was and am totally willing to fight to the death for this country, and for the Constitution. If you don't like it here, go, I won't argue with THAT right either.

I took that oath at every re-enlistment and it was just as important every time I took it, I don't think it stopped being valid when I retired either. I thought about that when I started hearing people talk about threatening the President during this last uproar... I'd step in front of a bullet for any president to this day whether I approve of him or not, that oath is still THAT important to me. Our Constitution and our Country is worth defending.
