I am new to an incubator can anyone help?

I would let the temp be and check later to see how it is....if you start adjusting too quickly you might get a yo yo effect where it is too high, you adjust, then it gets too low and it will never end! ;-) I wouldn't get too excited if it is just a fraction over the 99.5.....check in an hour or so and see how it is then.

Ok so on Day 2 today. I have my temps at 99.5 - 100 on the top of the eggs (therm is sitting on the top of the eggs). Humidity is at 34%.

I did get a humidifier to put in the room to help keep it steady. so far it is doing ok.

Do you guys remove the egg turner? If you do, on what day is best to do it? I have 20 serama eggs on day 14.

chickenlady08, the post below suggest to take out the turner on day 18 and also stop turning the eggs on day 18. I am glad I ask...other wise I would of taken it out yesterday.

Great news! It's Day 8 for me and I just finished my very 1st candling and it went great! Out of 27 eggs, 24 are fertile and I could see the little chick in there just bouncing all over the place. I could see a very prominent eye on quite a few of them. Lots of good veining! Yea!!!

So far I'm very pleased with the performance of my LG. It has held the temp and humidity very well after the initial setup. I hope this keeps up!
