In the Brooder
I have always adored the cuteness of the bins of chicks at the local farm stores but managed to resist until this year. I have to say I didn't cave this year so much as the lady at TSC was very good at her job and my husband loves to see me happy!
It started with 6 baby bantams from the assorted bin and now we have 52 chicks ranging in age from 5 days to 6 or so weeks old. In addition to the bantams( I have added to those initial 6), we have Cuckoo Marans, SLWs, EEs, RIRs, Blue Productions, Barnevelders, Barred Rocks, and an Amberlink.
I already had 4 Aussie budgies, an English budgie, a peach face lovebird and a rescued Ruby Macaw! One Bolognese dog, an inside cat, 3 outside cats and a family of 8 humans.
My aunt always had chickens but I didn't realize the charm until she had passed, I am grateful for this forum as a place to learn and meet like-minded people.
