I'd say cockerel. Looks like some pointier saddle feathers in the pic. The comb (not clear in the pic) looks like a pea comb with 3 rows, and its a bit red for the age.
I have 6 EE. Two are 14 months and four are 10 weeks old. We have some lighter colored ones with some rust on their wings, and feathers, but not the saddle feathers.
Here is the first three EE at age 7 weeks - getting more sure that the one is male...
Then at 12 weeks the male and the lighter colored female and there is a definite comb color difference and the saddle feathers are obvious on the male:
