I don't know how long this thread will remain open, I hope it doesn't turn nasty but I'm going to voice something I've wanted to say for a long time. You all know how much I care for you, and how much I value the knowledge you offer and the special relationships we all have.
But....

At time questions are asked that we are not experts on but that we all have very strong opinions on. I've voiced my own many times but I try and make sure and do it in a way that will not hurt anyone, or take something away from them that really want to try or get involved in. When it comes to questions about medical conditions everyone has their own story to back up what they are saying and to them it is God's truth. But you have to remember not everyone's situation is the same and what was good or not good for you may not be appropriate for them.
When it comes to raising animals, horses especially I've noticed, some on here feel that you have to have a 15,000 dollar barn, equipment that would make a King proud, and hundreds of available acres. No you don't, and you are taking away something by trying to convince people not to have horses or to try and compete on less than a purebred. Please support them, don't try and scare them off. I've ridden the best and I've shown the worst, and I've competed against moneyed riders and those who can barely afford their hay.

I'm against keeping animals on chains for any reason, but that is my own opinion, and I'm not going to shove it down someones throat and spend 8 pages worth of posts to prove I know better than anyone. I'll I'm asking is to be supportive, not to try and influence something I'm not an expert on.

I've already gotten a few nasty grams over suggesting a second opinion from a medical professional, or because I suggested someone get their horse and enjoy it. I've never attacked anyone on here for their opinions and I stay out of arguments because I'm not interested in the drama. So if you don't like what I have to say, don't read it, if you read it and don't like it, tough, it's my own opinion and we don't have to agree. I won't attack you, and you leave me alone too. Like the title says, I'm not evil, I just hate to see people possibly forgo medical care when they need it, or something they would enjoy because they were talked out of it before they could even try.

I agree and would like to jump in here before it gets locked too! I had someone tell me I was "evil" and of course I am not. We all have our own values and opinions and if you don't like what I have to say, then don't read it and move on. But there's no reason to be nasty.

You are not Evil and I agree with you completely.

We all Learn at different times and through different experiences.

I know I have made it by the skin of my teeth many times, but they have been the best lessons in the end.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, and Nugget too.

Jena.

Wow all, someone actually pm'd you to tell you that you are evil? That's unacceptable and completely uncalled for. I'm hoping that the person who did this will take the time to rethink what they did and find it in themselves to apologize. If not maybe the mods can have a word with them. Let them know they crossed the line on that one. JMO.

Writer I don't know you personally but I do know that you're a very caring and good hearted person just from BYC. Don't take it personally as this person obviously has issues.

I know the medical post you are talking about, and I think advising someone to seek a second opinion from a medical professional is ALWAYS a good idea. It just isn't possible for people online to know the whole story and get a decent grasp on a medical issue just from a message board. I think getting a second opinion can never hurt. I'm surprised anyone would take issue with that.

Hello all,

As you can plainly see, I am still new and have a lot to learn here on BYC. But, I am over half a century old, and I have learned a little about the the art of disagreeing without being disagreeable.

Sounds like a lot of people haven't had those lessons. I completely agree with all of the opinions in your postings, and offer wholehearted support to the causes mentioned within.

Very sincerely yours,

ranchhand

P.S. I am however, dying to know about fainting chickens and the famous Nugget!

One of the great things about the internet is that it connects millions of people with similar interests around the world who would never meet otherwise. One of the biggest drawbacks to the internet is tendency of people to feel much more free to say things to people that they would never be so rude as to say face to face or on the phone.

I attribute that to the anonymity the internet offers. People feel safe saying whatever and whenever and to whomever, without regard to whether or not they may hurt the other person. Sometimes I even think they *want* to hurt the other person.

So I agree with what you've said, and am sorry that anyone had the temerity to say something so vile to you. Try not to take it personally.

Sarah
