I don't know how long this thread will remain open, I hope it doesn't turn nasty but I'm going to voice something I've wanted to say for a long time. You all know how much I care for you, and how much I value the knowledge you offer and the special relationships we all have.
But....
At time questions are asked that we are not experts on but that we all have very strong opinions on. I've voiced my own many times but I try and make sure and do it in a way that will not hurt anyone, or take something away from them that really want to try or get involved in. When it comes to questions about medical conditions everyone has their own story to back up what they are saying and to them it is God's truth. But you have to remember not everyone's situation is the same and what was good or not good for you may not be appropriate for them.
When it comes to raising animals, horses especially I've noticed, some on here feel that you have to have a 15,000 dollar barn, equipment that would make a King proud, and hundreds of available acres. No you don't, and you are taking away something by trying to convince people not to have horses or to try and compete on less than a purebred. Please support them, don't try and scare them off. I've ridden the best and I've shown the worst, and I've competed against moneyed riders and those who can barely afford their hay.
I'm against keeping animals on chains for any reason, but that is my own opinion, and I'm not going to shove it down someones throat and spend 8 pages worth of posts to prove I know better than anyone. I'll I'm asking is to be supportive, not to try and influence something I'm not an expert on.
I've already gotten a few nasty grams over suggesting a second opinion from a medical professional, or because I suggested someone get their horse and enjoy it. I've never attacked anyone on here for their opinions and I stay out of arguments because I'm not interested in the drama. So if you don't like what I have to say, don't read it, if you read it and don't like it, tough, it's my own opinion and we don't have to agree. I won't attack you, and you leave me alone too. Like the title says, I'm not evil, I just hate to see people possibly forgo medical care when they need it, or something they would enjoy because they were talked out of it before they could even try.
