I don't think it's just lately people are getting ruder. It seems to cycle. Remember last fall all the political threads getting closed. Good times. lol!
I like the diversity, variety and challenge of the differing opinions, keeps me on my toes. and yes locked threads are my favorite too. I'm still waiting for my own personal undelete button.
It does seem to me that more of the newer members are not getting timely answers to emergency or really any questions. I'm finding myself woefully inadequately trying to answer, and give a bump. But maybe I'm just noticing it more.

I've been noticing that there has been alot of...I don't want to say, snappiness, but more of uhhh....snappiness on certain posts, I've seen two posts get closed so far since yesterday cause of fights, or arguements.

as my great great great great great great great great great grandfather used to say "stop fighting you bunch of ninnies before I come over there and boot you in your glute"

ok, so I never knew my great great great great great great great great great grandfather, but still, good advise

Back to the topic-

Yes, there have been some remarkably rude posts lately, things my Grandmother would have spanked me for.

Several things come to mind-


If you disagree, do so without being disagreeable. (Or don't respond at all. Close that window/tab and move on to more comfortable territory.)

If you haven't something nice to say, say nothing, or say "how interesting". (Then move on.)

Good manners are the lubrication system of society!
