I am really disappointed

I ordered my chicks from ideal on friday - online, each of them said available. so I phone up today asking when I should expect them and they said 24 FEB!, is this normal?, I thought seeing as they were available and they ship 3 days a week that I would have had them this week - I am almost tempted to cancel my order and try elsewhere.

anyone got any suggestions, or would it be the same everywhere

there are tons of people ordering for spring. i would imagine it is first come first served.. and many ordered a couple of months ago.. i think you will find it the same where ever you order from right now. mine are coming in april lol

That doesn't seem like too long to me! I ordered my chicks in mid-July and they shipped on Sept 21st. Yesterday I saw a thread from someone who placed an order and his/her order will not ship until this July! Feb 24th - that's just around the corner!

they might not have had the number you wanted at this time...they placed you at a time when they were likely to have that many hatch...they get lots of calls so it might be that you just were a little behind. I know i have called and been like one call shy of being able to get stuff. that is the way it worls and yuo are probably likely to end up in the same fix at another place

They also do your ship date when they have all of your chicks available. I called and asked what was available on the date I wanted and redid my order that way so I got them on the date I wanted. It may be as simple as changing the quantities of a certain breed so they can ship it earlier.

i wanted me shipped on feb27, and they will be shipping on feb 17! i ahve to get to work finishing their home O_0

I ordered from Ideal in Jan 2010 and my breeds were going to all be available no earlier than 2/17/10, but that is quite alright. Gives me time to get my chicks in a row
