I am seeking Revenge

P.S. Instead of revenge (which I guess won't help to solve the problem unless you put some wire to guard them?), how about making a donation for a chicken rescue or something, in the name of your beautiful girl?

Sorry for your loss.
So, I'm not the only one that gives lap birds massages, eh? I got a drake that loves them.
She was lucky to have you.
My concern is that if you get this predator, another will take it's place. Can someone be there while they free range, or can you add a dog to help guard?

It's amazing how the ones you lose are always the favorite. I lost my beautiful Buffy to a hawk in September. She was my favorite. As i sobbed over the last of her beautiful blue eggs, my husband listening, now certain of my insanity, i too vowed to get the brown crow. By the weekend, there were 5 hawks, circling the yard in search of another. I had chickens several years ago and they were free range and i never had a problem. Now I can't let them out unless I am watching. I am a wreck, and think every shadow s a hawk. The poor chickens hate the pen, even though we enlarged it. They were so happy digging up my flowers and scratching the horse manure.

Has anyone tried aviary netting? I thought about buying a 25 by 100 net to drape over the garden area just to let them out during the day. Their pen has a front porch about 4 x 6 and a back yard about 8x10. We have 4 chickens in there and two little ones in the garage waiting to get a bit bigger before I introduce them. Is that enough room?
