Admittedly I've been in the middle of many controversial threads, especially
my first year.

Really PC< I dont remember any of that!

I joined when it was much smaller and more intimate, left and recently came back. Things do cycle.​

Free Ranging 2+ years with not a chicken lost. My coops are secure.

I think what makes my chickens unattractive to raccoons is the middle of night "lead" that has a habit of flying at great speed near the coop area.

I'd rather not comment further for fear of offending someone.

Since relocating is my pet peeve, sometimes I forget myself when it is brought up. I am probably guilty of the new revised rules when somebody does bring up relocating, but darn it, I know the laws of my area, and everytime a thread comes up that is pro/con on relocation no one can agree long enough to keep it going.

Would you mods be willing to let me start a thread about where it is legal, or not to relocate? For example, a member from Oregon was nice enough to point out that state laws there allow it, but in many many states it is verboten almost unconditionally...... Not a whole lot of drama, just members from different states researching their rules and posting? Maybe some of the folks who know AC or DNR personally help in finding resources for relocating? Known wildlife refuges or rehab folks who can find a new home without spreading disease and issues?

Here in Mich it is hard to do... but that doesn't mean it is like that everywhere. If it was a viable option for me, I would jump at it because I do feel life is sacred no matter what ya'll may think of me, but I am also fiercely loyal and territorial when it comes to family, pets, livestock and food.
