I am so mad and so LMBO at the same time...what can ya do?

gosh when you are done with training her maybe you can help me out with mine...I swear I thought I was reading about my king Sheppard/St. Bernard mix. exact same description. I have tried soo many things and for so long I have no clue what else to try its like he doesn't retain information.

but he is also super clumsy and adorable. Its one of those thing were I throw my hands up in the air and literally say what am I to do!! I have 5 other dogs, 6 with him in total and the rest are well mannered, listen well, and do as they are told. This guy I tell him to sit and he just twists his head sideways at me, I know he understands me, which is more frustrating in the end...lol....he thinks he is part deer and can hop a 4 foot half door without making a darn sound, which usually leads to him surprising me while I am sitting on the couch and him jumping behind me and pushing my butt onto the floor. You've seen the movie Marley?? that is him only a different breed!!!! and he never got kicked out of obedience classes we were just told to just keep trying. 3 obedience classes later and nope, nothing, nada, zilch!!

but we love the big lug....

I should also mention I trained the other 5, they all know how to behave accordingly, and they all know not to jump gates, or come into my kitchen or go on my bed...this guy will jump the half door and lay on my bed, sneak in the kitchen and climb on the counters...I caught him on the stove 2 days ago, thank goodness the stove was not on!!! he knows when I am upset just byt he way I call him and that is when he clues in and goes for his time out...lol....

Ema, consistency is the key to success in training dogs. Luckily, they are underfoot all day long...every single day...every single second of every single day ALL DAY LONG....ok, maybe I should have not used the word luckily..but consistent was correct

SHHhhhhhhhhhhhh the demon is napping!!

Seriously, she'll be fine in a couple days with some positive reinforcement and lots of love, but what a PITB she is right now!

Oh Cindy!

I feel for ya gal! I really do! He looks to be a lab/Shepperd mix? And only 6 months old? Oh yeah. The stupid gland is producing full throttle right now!

I wish I were closer to you girl. I'd take that monster on in a heart beat. DH is a miracle worker with dogs. I don't know what it is, but even the dumbest, most ill mannered mutts seem to k now he's the Alpha in the group and therefore will bow to his will.

But Kathy is right! Nella's your girl! She's even looking for another dog right now. But, last I heard, she was wanting to adopt a dog that is in its final years. The kind that rarely ever get adopted out of the shelters, ya know!

But, give her a holler. You never know. She just might decide that this fella is a perfect match for her younger dog.

She ain't too bright either at times!

ETA: Ooops! Substitute he and him for she and her. My bad. Didn't notice the stated sex of the problem child until after I posted!

Serrin, I am NOT trying to make enemies with Nella by dumping this crazy animal on her or anyone else for that matter. I'm going to have to simply suck it up and train the nut. I did take her, and then did not have time for her, pawned her off on someone else, and got her back all scrambled in the head...so I guess I'm getting what I deserve to a degree...just that darn boy could have done SOMETHING besides just feed her

I do think she'll be a great dog...but not right now, she's a menace right now. I'll probably adopt her out in a month or so. Once she knows "sit" "down" "heel" "off" and "stay" consistently, she'll be a wonderful addition to anyone's family. I can't give her away at the moment. Just wouldn't be right. Darn nutty dog...don't think I don't WANT to, but I'd hate to. She'd probably wind up at the pound if she goes to someone that has never trained an animal. Her and pup are playing pretty well right now, so that's an improvement. I thought some of it might be just excitement of the new place, and some has proven to be just that. Still many underlying behavior issues though.

She is beautiful. If I was looking for a dog, I'd gravitate toward her. Two of my dogs looked very much like her. I love that color and the smooth or short coat. Here is our late, great Cody--see the widow's peak like your girl's?

All dog owners should have your attitude. That's great that you don't want to dump her on someone, then have her end up in a pound and getting the big needle or something.

Oh lord, did I hear my name?

My name and CRAZY DOG in the same sentence? OH NO.

I have a crazy dog already.

Wasn't he sweet and adorable?

NO MORE CRAZY DOGS.

What a cutie she is. She sounds like she has a lot of training ahead of her,but I would trade over my 2 who have decided that they will void in the house even if I take them out hourly. I'll take a jumper over a pooper!

I bet you will get her trained and in a new home soon.Sweet of you to take on the challenge.
