I am so very lucky - great home life, great kids - not perfect but it's all good...Today's my birthday (I'm 48) and my mom hasn't called me. She lives 2500 miles away and forgot it's my birthday. I told my dh this morning all I wanted was for my mom to call me today and she didn't. Anyway, thank you for listening...

Well Happy Birthday, and I am sorry she didn't call you. My MIL forgot to call my Husband on his Birthday a couple of years ago. Even his father remembered, and that was unlikley, but his mom didn't and when he called her the next day, she still didn't remember. I felt like chewing her out!

It's entirely possible to space out a birthday now and again. That said, I'm always on pins and needles on my birthday worrying about whether my kids will remember to call me.
