I own a pit bull myself and when we first moved here the neighbors were scared. During the conversation they had to mention shooting some dog. So I was like great.

Hope they know we have guns to.

This is so sad. I can't believe someone would do something like that to those poor babies. Have you guys confronted the neighbor. If you don't want to do that just ask him if he had heard or seen anything, if he acts suspicious and try to get a warrant filed. What is your reason to believe that it was this neighbor you had mentioned? Has he made threats before? Then that should also be announced.

I'll send good vibes to your family. Hope they are dealing with this well.

I am sorry for the dogs and your son. There's a sicko out there with a gun; that is a scary thought. Who ever shot those dogs has to be seriously unbalanced. Losing his dogs in this senseless, violent manner has to hurt double than losing them to old age.

What an incredible injustice. I get furious with the stinking so called justice of this land.

During a counseling session with my granddaughter who asked if she could come live with us to help her get off of drugs, I found out her stepfather had been raping her for a period of six years. It started when she was eleven. I went to the local police dept, and got no help at all. I went to the County prosecuting attorney's office and got no help at all. Is it any wonder people take justice into their own hands. I'm so sorry for your loss and tell your son-in-law justice will one day be done. God bless you.

I hope he will be charged. I would go crazy knowing I was living next to a neighbor who did that.Could you place cameras to tape future trespass?

I would hope animal control,or animal rights would do something about this. The tracks in the snow and admitting he was on the property...you would think that would make it easier to question/push him.If he has a gun can't the police look up a license and then ask for the gun to compare ballistics? I would get the bullets anyway even if I had to get them out myself. If it were a person killed they would be getting those bullets and pushing the issue. Why do animals mean so much less?

I saw a court case where a neighbor killed a neighbor over their dogs suspected death. When the law does not step in and rectify these unjustful actions then people often take matters into their own hands resulting in more death and jail time.I really thought all states had laws to follow when animals are killed.

Very sorry your family is going through this!

Wow, that's terrible. There would be NO WAY I could let this go. Obviously, there must be a history with the neighbor, for you to suspect him. It would be hard to prove, but for the cops to not even gather evidence seems criminal to me.
