Ok..... After 2 weeks of TERRIBLE weather and being unable to work on my new coop, I FINALLY had 39 degrees outside today and our first day without rain! It was still too muddy for me to drag out the power tools, so I dug a trench. a long trench. About 15 inches deep, by 150 feet long. Buried my water and electric lines to the coop. Haven't made the connections yet, but the worst part is done!! YAY! Chicks coming in 3 weeks..... I can't wait!

I Need just a few more productive days to get the coop done...... then I can start on the run.

I LOVE this forum!

Hope you all had a wonderful day!

Jeff

I knew I had to take advantage of it! We are getting another 2-4 inches of snow/sleet mix tonight. If I can just have the coop itself done by the time my babies get here, then I have a few more weeks to get the run built. I think we will be ok, if this weather will just LET UP!!!

I here ya been building a new coop this winter myself and been posting pixs as I go. I didn't plan on such a cold, wet winter either. I made progress too the last few days...get's the motivation going again.

I feel the same way! I cant wait to get a hen or two for my gobblers to have poults! Last year i had ordered 5 from the local feed mill. 2 were crippled, 1 had a crossed beak and his eye stayed closed, and there was 2 normal ones. No luck, they all passed, hopefully this year brings better!
