Welll.....I don't blame the girlfriend. She was just being a dumb naive girl, who believed her boyfriend when he told her that everything would be fine. I don't think she deserved to die just because her boyfriend led her into trouble. The guy (Tim Treadwell), though, I have no sympathy for.

ETA: I just looked it up, and actually Treadwell had spent **13** summers with the bears before he got eaten. Just an interesting tidbit.

It is an interesting tidbit & it's probably the reason he was able to talk his girlfriend into going because he'd gone so many times & he was fine etc....

I read that she was 37 years old. That's old enough for common sense. Unless he dragged her kicking and screaming into the woods, she is also to blame for her own demise. They were both dumb and naive. They also created a danger to other people because they were habituating bears to humans.

ohhh are we talking about Grizzly man? he was pretty messed up in the head not even about the bears, but that too. I found the documentary fascinating. Also it was impressive that the girlfriend instead of running for her life tried to beat the bear off with a frying pan or something like that, at that point she made the decision to fight and knew the consequences, sad really but very romantic too.

I am so sorry about your dog. Did you call fish and game that for sure should get it a trap and bullet. I just pray we are safe. I am going to keep my eyes open and see if I can get you a vid of the bear by the dumpster.

No, I didn't call F&G. Local cops came out and conditioned her and I haven't seen her again. I was hoping that she, the dog and the cubs all learned a lesson that night. Talked to my neighbor yesterday and he said that the drama the other night was a mother and 3 cubs so I bet that was her again. There are 100's of acres of forest around here for them to live in. My biggest problem right now is with 2 males. Neighbor has a bird feeder and they keep coming back to it. Hubby has talked with neighbor but it hasn't helped. Neighbor has an elderly mother who likes to watch them. They should be out of here within the next year or 2 so hoping the problem stops them. I watched the videos of the bear lady and it makes me so angry. Yeah, they are shy but only for so long. Rocking cubs is just stupid. She is creating a problem for those around her one of these days she is going to have one turn on her. We will be getting electric fencing around the coop but it would cost too much to do the whole yard, we have 3 acres.​
