Ohhh sweetie don't you feel guilty!! You were trying to help me~ I knew there was a chance it could happen. I think I was more shocked with the people who took him because 2 hours later he became dinner. You have no control over what people do and I don't know how their situation was either. I'm just glad I decided to keep Beauty! Remember I changed my mind about giving both of them up~ I'm really glad I did! And yes we will keep looking! Hugs back at ya

You are sweet to forgive me. It kind of surprised me too that they didn't wait longer. For now, just keep Beauty and when he starts to crow hope that the neighbors either don't hear him, don't mind if they do hear him, don't know chickens are not supposed to be there, think the crowing is coming from the property behind you where chickens are legal, OR........enjoy hearing a rooster let out a good lusty crow as much as I do!!

Well that's crappy! They didn't even give him a chance to fit in! But I know that is a risk we take when we rehome. Last year I rehomed a bantam delaware rooster and a pr. of self blue OEGBs and every time I drive by the farm where they went I'm tempted to pull in and see if they are still around. I'm probably better off not knowing!

Your BO roo is beautiful. I'm in TN or would take him off your hands. Right now I have a little bantam cochin roo in with my big girls and I think there are too many for him! There are 20! But I have 2 BLRW roosters in with my bantams, a father and 6 mo. old son, and I think I'm going to have to get rid of one of them. They are starting to fight. But the 6 mo old is one of the first 3 that we let hatch from one of our hens, so I just hate to get rid of him. I've got to do something soon.

Ohmy GOSH, I LOVE your coop! I mean... totally LOVE your coop! I am just starting to build mine and I hope mine is half as cute as yours is! You should be super proud! Okay, I have a few questions for you!
1. did you make your window or buy it? It has such a pretty shape to it (the frame) and wondered if you made it??<--- Never mind! I just read your page and see you made it! So adorable!!
2. where did you get that chicken bell? I MUST have one too! LOL
3. I noticed you have what looks like metal strips that attach your wire to your door?? Is that right? What did you use, because it looks great!

Great coop. I would keep the roo till you have an *official* complaint.I got my free roo when I posted to craigslist. We love him,but he does crow alot. I fret about it at times, but figured I would deal with complaints IF I actually get any.We got him in April and so far so good.

Thanks Hawkseye! Haha to answer your questions

The window I just bought a plexi glass cutout from Lowes and framed it into place with some leftover wood cuts!

You can get the same chicken bell here off ebay!

The screen door was actually a (kickplate) for a door~ It has those metal strips built onto it. I purchased it at Lowes! It was the perfect size and makes it super secure

Hope that helps~ Have FUN! I'm sure it will be cute to

Yea you may be better off not knowing! I know thats the chance you take~ I was prepared for that outcome eventually. But~ Beauty... I will hang onto him unless I know somebody is going to keep him! Well as far as your roo's ~ I know its hard to keep to many of them especially if there aren't enough girls. But you have 20! Haha You may still need to seperate the areas for the Roo's and break them into groups?? I don't know how all that works. I'm definately still learning here
th.gif
I can see how that might be hard to part with either of them. Do you have room to seperate them maybe 6 girls with each roo and then just put the extra girls in either group? It might work if you have the room~ But I would think that would be alot of crowing to!
