Great coop!!

Our coop is really high up too.

The chickens have plenty of room under it and I plan on adding a roost for them there. But we had a 3 foot retaining wall we needed to get the nest boxes over. And yes I would have to use a ladder to reach the peak or the roost. But to clean it, we just open the doors and the raised floor height is perfect.

Watch the weight to move it. I tried cutting a few corners on framing to keep the coop as light as possible, but it still was a bear to try and move

GREAT COOP! good idea on just keeping it in pieces-then carting out to permanent spot and setting it up-much lighter! Great design and layout! Lucky chickens.

AHhhh so is your base about 2 feet off the ground? with you in that picture?

OHH and by the way everyone~ they will be free ranging chickens and only locked up at night for added protection. My entire backyard is fenced in with a 6ft high fence. So they really will have freedom of the whole backyard that was why shortening the legs (If it must come to that) on it wouldn't take away their place to play~ because they have the whole backyard! And yes we are Urban Chickens~ Shishhhhh!!!! Haha but the idea behind it all It looks like a playhouse! But I welcome all thoughts and opinions while I'm building this~ I love to see different perpectives

I bet you could build one! This is the first thing I ever built with skill saw and a Miter saw~ this was actually the first time I actually "ever" used one of those tools!! It's the determination of doing something that drives me~ Haha I laugh because I was scared of the skill saw~ thinking I might nick a finger or something. Now I look around and think about what else I can build! Haha
