I bought a hamster water bottle for my new chicks

I don't get the spring loaded kind either, and I forgot to mention I also use a tiny regular waterer for the chicks for the first week of life alongside the rabbit one so that the weaker chicks have a chance to get the hang of pecking at the rabbit waterer without getting dehydrated.

They do figure it out eventually, but the floor is all wet in this pic because of the darn baby turkeys! It's the 32 ounce bottle.

I made this:

ingredients.
Plastic cranberry juice bottle, epoxy, pvc coupler, and a tupperware dish.

I mounted a dowel in their coop and the pvc slides over that and the waterer hangs above the floor and avoids much dirt.

Yep, those are the trusty knex. I LOVE those kinds of toys. They serve for all kinds of things. Parents got us the roller coaster set the year it came out and is one of the few toys we still use!

We made the coaster maybe 2x over the years, and in the mean time, have used it for many chicken things, and even made a second "screen" door over my bredroom door when we were like 10 or so. It had hinges and all. My mom hated the thing as pieces would pop off and it sometimes would fall off the door frame we duct taped it to. LOL
