I bought the Brown Layer Assortment. What are these gals? ****PIC HEAVY****

Mystery Chick #2 -There is a light grey spot between his/her shoulders and feathered legs.
I have a chick exactly like this! Black spot on its back and feathered feet. We also got the brown layer assortment from McMurray, which means this could also be the free exotic. It's the chick I've been most curious about.

Here's mine:

Sorry the coloring is off. I'm going to try and get better shots tomorrow.

I agree - that last one's a faverolles chick (congrats - faverolles are awesome

). The first two are either jersey giants and/or australorps, the red one are red sex links and/or production reds, and the I think the splotchy one might be an easter egger (I think I see a beard). Nice combo!

But wait... why would they give you an EE in a brown egg layer assortment? maybe it's a splash marans?

Thank you!! You guys have been extremely helpful! For argument sake I am going to call the red chicks RIR/Production Reds, there isn't a good way to tell. I never would have guessed Salmon Faverolles on the one Mystery chick. I was at a total loss.

I personally think it's way too early to 100% tell exactly what they are. Sometimes you can make an educated guess, but too many breeds of chicks this age look way too much like each other and change as they age. I have been certain of a breed, just to find out as it aged it wasn't what I thought it was. As far as the first one being an Australorp or Jersey Giant and telling by feet color. I have both and at that age they all had the same feet color and looked EXACTLY the same. It is fun guessing, though.

The black ones have bodies just like my australorps, but mine have a combo of black and white feet. Some have black and some have white, but none of them have that color foot. I don't really have much else to add. Lol. Good luck!
