Brought her here yesterday. How long will it be before she begins laying eggs here?
I've never had a tiny flock before so never really paid much attention when adding new hens for how long it takes to start laying.

She is a couple years old, I gave her as a day old chick to my moms neighbor. when she couldn't afford chickens anymore she gave her back to me and i kept her at my moms for several months. Now that I have room and written permission from neighbors I brought her home.

It could be a week or a couple of months you never know. I'll add that with molting season it could be till after she's finished molting. Then there is winter coming, maybe in the spring. At a couple of years she should lay again sometime. Can you tell I'm a glass is half empty guy. Always happy when I my guess is an underestimate.

The move will cause her a bit of stress... Some birds quit for a few weeks when they are moved. I got a trio of faverolles last year... The day I got them the girls had been laying steady... It took nearly a month before they started laying again. IT WAS AWESOME when they finally started. LOL.

I went to check on my pullets and new hen today. There was an egg. A huge egg so I know it's not from the pullets :) My pullets are to young to lay eggs right now anyway.
I'm so excited. Hoping to get a steady one egg every other day.
