I CALLED ABOUT A CHICKEN SWAP FOR TRACTOR SUPPLY IN AUGUSTA MAINE

The Augusta TSC doesn't have a lot of shady areas, course it's new. They do have the top side of the parking lot, but when we were there last week it was full of trailers for sale. There is a little road that goes around the building, but part of that looked blocked off. I'm not sure how it would work for trailers if anyone brought something larger. I would say the parking area is about the same as Oxford, if they didn't have the trailers there, but in Oxford they have that side area which Augusta doesn't have. I have never visited the Skowheagan one. Loved Oxford looked like shade most of the day prefect set up and lots of room.

i dont think there is or was a problem, i think some are just investigating what could be a problem is all. if that make sense

I just got off the phone with TSC in skowhegan. they would love to have us and they just had an event on may 16th for chicken swapping with the blue seal rep. they are currently planning an event on june 13th (saturday) and we are welcome to come join them. they are having a farm rescue and horse rescue coming in and doing a bake sale to raise money for the those 2 rescues.
they said their understanding was single chick sales are fine because we are not selling for the store but privately.
editted to add:
they have lots of shade on the side of the store as well. and can add us to their bullitin board and newletter if we want to come on june 13th. or another date will be fine with them as well. they will also save boxes for us if people need them to send home chickens and post people might want to bring a carrier (or they sell them) if buying large fowl.

What about a Paris Farmers Union or an Aubuchon. I live in the Lakes Region Area and there is a new Aubuchon in Naples, ME. This would be closer for some NH people. The Paris farmers union in bridgton, me is new as well. Bridgton is just on the other side of Fryeburg. Close to Conway, NH...

I'll check out the situation tomorrow and give either one a call if they look "do-able". I was mainly wondering if people preferred the Tractor Supply Company for some specific reason...

I live just a few minutes away from the PFU and Aubuchon. I never really noticed the space and shade situation before, but shouldn't be hard to look them over since I drive by everyday on my way to/from work! I'm thinking since they are both new stores, they may be in to something like this to draw more attention. One good thing about both stores is they are right on a major road (302). So there would be high visibility.
