Solved I can’t use the options in the tab bar

None of the buttons work. I tap them but nothing happens. I was using them in a different thread when suddenly I clicked the emoji button and everything stopped working

In the editor, the buttons will be disabled when you toggle the BBCode Editor on/off. It's in the More Options submenu:

I’m still getting used to things

That is probably something they will add back in after the dust settles.

I use that function for my Caption Contest, good grief, better start now sorting them out for tomorrow.

This was provided by an addon, but that's currently disabled. @Nifty-Chicken

If we could possibly get this add on activated, I would be SO grateful!
