Nope, just runners. A neighbor had some and they had babies so she gave me 4. 1 boy and 3 girls. I still have the 3 girls but the drake was mean and nasty so he went to another home. I hatched my own eggs last spring from those 4 and it was so much fun and very exciting! My neighbor let me borrow her incubator though so I didn't have to buy one. I did get my own for Christmas and the first of May I will start another hatching. It takes 28 days!THEY ARE SO CUTE!!! I love all ducks!! I'll think about it! Have you had any experience with K/C or Rouen?

You probably shouldn't try because you can damage them if you do it wrong. YOu won't know what they are until they stop peeping and start quacking. Then.....you will be fine for a while but once they start to get bigger and become adults in like 3-4 months you will be having a problem if you've got too many boys! They will all want to be the boss and they will act like fools to each other. How exciting! I feel like my biggest concern at the moment is if I find a place that carries Rouen, K/c, or these runners, that they will not be sexed, and I have no idea how to sex them... :/

Exactly! Then you will have to made adjustments which may include setting up a separate pen and run or getting rid of some of the babies you raised. That is hard! I rehomed my old drake because he was such a butt to my 2 younger drakes. Then the minute he was gone one of the younger drakes stated being so hateful to his brother who he loved all his life and did everything together with! I tried putting him by himself to see if he'd start acting right about after a week he didn't so I put an ad on Craig's list and a nice family came and got him. They send me pictures of him and give me updates. He was a beautiful drake.Right.... kinda like..... human boys???![]()

Here is a picture of my 3 babies who grew up to be so pretty. Daisy is the white one and he was a boy. He got killed by a peregine falcon. It was horrible! Then the middle one is Spot who is my girl. She is called "penciled" because of the way her feathers are outlined. The last is Grady and he was the one who was being awful to Daisy after their dad got rehomed. They all came from the same hatcing and look nothing like their parents. Aren't they pretty?

I'm happy you're so excited. I just love my ducks. I have a chair in my duck run and sometimes I just sit there with them and watch. Very relaxing! If you can I'd try to get them sexed because it will save you a lot of heartbreak and work. They're beautiful! Ya I'm hoping I can find a place that has them sexed already, and also has good options for breeds... Oh ya, and I want them SOON!! : D
these are their parents!
