I hatched 2 chicks last night after a near catasrophy with the temp drop but no new pips all day. I picked up an egg and tapped on it and heard it tapping!!! Should I leave it be? Should I try to help? I removed the chicks, they were panting and steaming up the bator. They are doing great! How much more time should I give the unhatched eggs? Last time I thought they were doomed whattya know, chicks! Ooooh the anxiety!!!!!!

Sit on your hands and don't touch the incubator!
No help is needed, infact it would only do harm to them. It could be anywhere from one-three days before you see external pipping, and from there on it could be anywhere from 24-48 hours 'till hatch. Keep the incubator closed aswell, we don't want any shrink wrapping. Be patient! Keep us updated aswell!

Can not stress that advice enough!!!! The only reason you need to open that bator right now is if you have no other way to add water for humidity. Try and keep it above 70% and hopefully closer to 80+
Do be over zealous to remove the new hatches either. They should at the least be completely dry before they come out.

Congrats......and that feeling you have right now, it does not go away until you have done a few dozen hatches. LOL It's both a blessing and a burden. Let us know how its going

Have two healthy fuzzballs one kicking around in the bator, one it's way out, another egg cheeping and no pips!!! been keeping the humidity high close to 80%. Got really dry this morning but one is making its way out on its own! Thanks for the support!
