Was feeling confident that Midnight was a pullet but in the last couple weeks her comb and wattles have grown huge (especially compared to her sister who is from the same batch). I don't think I see male hackle or saddle feathers but this is my first go-round in 35+ years with chickens. I'm hoping Midnight is just maturing faster than Eclipse but that's a LOT of comb of wattles ... any thoughts??!! They were billed as Australorps but they both have splashes of brown. Neither one seems larger in the body or legs than the other (but they are humongous compared to the EE and Leghorn who are roughly the same age (16-18 weeks as I've had them 15 weeks now). Thanks!
Full shot ...

blurry shot but Midnight in front, Eclipse in back, trying to show difference in comb size but they wouldn't hold still of course!

She's just has a bigger comb and waddles and that could mean she is getting closer to laying.

Hi! I would like your oppinion on two of my chickens. The tan chicken is Lyric. Lyric is approximately 12- 14 weeks old. I'm not sure of the breed. I've been told its a possible EE mix and I've had a lot of people tell me it looks like a rooster. The white chicken is Duchess. It's a 10 week old delaware. I'm a little anxious about my delaware because its my favorite. I really hope its a female because I cant keep roosters where I live. What do you think hen or roo?
