How old is it? Could you get a standing side picture? Could you get a clear picture of the comb?

Hi thank you for offering to help! We are brand new to raising silkie chickens. A family friend had too many chicks and offered 3 to us. We were told the black one was male and the other 2 were female. But after they've grown and doing some research I'm beginning to think the buff one is male and the other 2 are female. Also we aren't sure what their ages are. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

I'm not the best at sexing silkies, but that buff really looks like a roo.

Would appreciate some thoughts on my Polish. Sold to me from a breeder as a "candy corn"

This girl (I hope!) is very dominant, and has pretty decently red wattles, but her v comb is very pale like her legs. Approximately 12-14 weeks old at this point.
Lovely plumage, I think! But I already have a rooster, and I don't think my small flock could handle two boys.

I'm not seeing the typical saddle feathers or hackle feathers roosters are supposed to have... but this is my first flock and first Polish.
Thank you!

Thank you both! Yeah as the buff has gotten older, the feathers have gotten fancier and stringier . Plus it looks like it's getting a comb

These are about 7 weeks. I have some notions about sex, but I want to see what others say

For the Polish
You may be able to keep him if its a male
What breed is your roo
How many hens do you have
What breeds are they?

Thanks so much for your help, both of you!

I have a mixed barnyard lot... 9 in total, including the one I'm 99% certain is a Roo and the Polish. Everyone is between 12-14 weeks old (got them all the same week, the Silkies were older is all I was told; though about the same size as the standard breed chicks)

2 Goldlace Bantam Wyandottes - pullets
1 Easter Egger pullet
1 Sicilian Buttercup pullet
2 Silkies - one looks pullet with a feminine coif bob, the other not sure yet - about 13-14 weeks old
1 Silverlace Wyandotte that's definitely pullet
1 Silverlace Wyandotte that's most likely Roo (he's large and developed with obvious hackle and Saddle feathers as well as the over-representation of white)
And my Polish - who is likely male :)

I'd love to be able to keep them all! But if the questionable silkie is male too, that makes 6 hens for 3 Roos. Silver Lace male is definitely staying. So if only one Roo, he's my boy. If two can stay, it's a hard call for me, lol I'm attached to them all pretty well

Thank you!
Seems like a cockerel to me.
Look at the wattles!
