Hi, what a fun thread!
This one was sold as "Americana" so I'm not really sure what s/he is, an Ameraucana or EE? S/he is about 10 weeks old. His (?!) friends in the photos are the same age.
:)

I'm leaning towards cockerel. However, I have No experience with silkies.
Age? Which one?

I’m trying to determine sex on these chickens. I’m also curious if you (or anyone else) could tell me what breed this black bantam is. This is our first flock. Once I sort through my pics, I may post more.

Okay let’s add a couple more. One (the second photo) of these my 14-yr-old has named Petunia. So he’s hoping she’s not a roo.

Asia Black 5/12 to 6 weeks. Was pretty sure she was a pullet but it looks like she’s getting some pink. What do you think?

@NotJustLaurie, first you are posting pictures of the wrong end of the bird. The best way to sex a bird is by pictures of the feathers close to the tail, from the top and the side. Also a full stance picture to see how the bird stands is often helpful. Another thing to look for is if the bird gets feathers in the middle of the back or it is still fuzzy at about 3-4 weeks old, the slower feathering ones will be boys.

Help! Here are some pictures of my three barred rocks (I got them as 3 day old chicks-supposed to be cuckoo Marans until I noticed yellow feet). The right one I think is a pulley (black and light small wattle and comb). The middle one has loads of white, lighter in colour but small and light wattle and comb but seems to have hackles and sickles feathers. . The left one is darker black with very white bars and larger redder wattle and comb but no real tail sickles feathers What do you think?? They are 9 weeks.
