I can't believe I'm building a chicken coop.

Me too, nothing wrong with that!
So what's the HC cutter you got..power shears?

Oooooo.....yanked my tool junkie chain big time!

Absolutely!! I've got a Makita 18v now, was the only one that 'felt right'. The lithium batteries are sweet too, never had one before, fast recharge...like 15 minutes, just long enough for a break but not too long to lose momentum...and saved money not buying a second battery as with the old kind.
You're makita only came with 1? That stinks. My Dewalt came with 2 and a case and a depth gauge. I love the led light on the trigger as well.

No, I was glad I didn't have to buy the 2 battery package,
I could have but it was ~$40 bucks more and I didn't need 2 batts.
The light is nifty, but I wish it actually shone on the tip of bit.

It's a cut off saw. Little thing but amazing I had destroyed tin snips and 2 wire cutters cutting welded wire for my raised beds. Someone here recommended it.

Got a link?

My browser isn't giving me the url. So go to Harbofreight.com in search type in cut off saw. I bought the cheapie $24.99 one that comes up on the first page and a package of 10 blades since that's how they package them. Had a 20% off coupon so both with tax were like $28.00. You have to be careful as the safety switch is a bit strange as when you release it it also turns the tool on. Cover up and wear eye protection as it creates lots of hot sparks going through metal. Gets through wire like it's paper. I'm thinking it would be good for the tree starts on my fence line that are hard to get through with the loppers and too small for my chain saw. Haven't tried that yet.

So stopped at a pawn shop they had huge heavy ones that I could not have used accurately due to their weight. Off work late and other things to get done. I did have a little down time at work and looked a bit on line. Any suggestions for a light weight corded one that is under $40.00? Harbor freight had a couple I may go look at.

I use an angle grinder like this with a cut off blade on 14ga fencing:

Blade that will cut metal is not going to work well on wood, green or dry.
Use a hand pruning saw for those.

Apologies to @anatess for hijacking your thread into a chicktoolchat.
