I can't believe it!!

I don't think I would ship them. They are almost a week old now. I'm leaning towards selling about 20 and butchering 15 when the time comes. Do I need to have them on meat bird diet? This is definitely an adventure. My hubby is just as week as I am when it comes to little fuzzy butts. I have never shipped birds, so not really sure about it.

Not to sound silly... but are the ducklings dyed that color? Seems kinda weird to dye a bird. I cant believe my eyes!

Talk to your county's 4H club. Offer a discount for the kids, and they'll go to good homes with kids learning to care for poultry.

Our local 4-H doesn't do poultry, or that would be a great idea. Yes they are dyed colors for Easter.

I guess I am tender hearted, I would keep them all. I wouldn't eat any and if I didn't have a pond I would have one dug for them but thats just me. Go figure!

They are not necessarily meat birds, they are large breed. They will lay yummy delicious eggs.

I know to each his own, so won't even go into the butchering part.........but around here, duck eggs are considered a delicacey. I've been told they are excellent for baking. Do you have any restaurants/bakerys or farmer's markets close by? They don't go as cheaply as regular hen eggs. Just a thought.
