I can't get my chickens to drink!

I've noticed that chickens don't like change, i changed their waterer to a bigger and different colored one when they got older, and they did not drink from it, but when i got them a bigger and same colored one as the one they had, they drank from it well

I use auto waterers. I also have pans I put water in.
