I set the trap out again last night but forgot to release the catch on the door. This morning the bait was gone and I saw raccon tracks near our koi pond. I better remember to release the safety catch tonight.

Raccoon #6 has been dispatched. This time it was a youngun. On a side note, the cheap broadheads that Walmart sells that say "razor sharp" aren't. They would not penetrate fired from a 45# bow at close range. I dug out one of my Muzzies and was in business.
