We waved our pool skimmer in the air until all the mallards and Canada geese flew away and just he was left. Then we waved the skimmer and tried to herd him to a narrower part of the pond. There we threw our rope across the pond and walked him to the end of the pond and into a corner of the chainlink away from the pond. We had to do it twice, because he panicked once out of the water and flew over the rope and all the way to the other side of the pond. Second time I carried the pool skimmer and it was more intimidating than the rope, so he didn't try to fly by it.

Backed him into the corner until one of us could grab him and that was the end of that. Packed him in the crate, put him over the fence, fell over the fence ourselves, packed the car, and scadaddled right out of there.

Mrs Evans, so you think 3 girlfriends isn't enough for 1 drake? I don't know how many more ducks my lawn can handle. I was going to wait until Spring to see how bad the grass looked.

My khaki drake just was too much for the girls...if you could I'd say 6-1 is a good ratio at least for khakis...the girl never went in the pool...I had to lock him out in order to let them swim!
Grass? what grass? there is no more grass!!!

Well, Jack seems to be spreading the love mostly between the female khaki and the buff. He usually chases off the runner, but I have caught them together

The grass is holding up so far because they have access to the entire back yard. If the back looks too rough, I can put them in the front yard to give it time to recover.

It turned out great! Hatched eggs in it last week. Struggling with the humidity, I think I'm going to buy a child humidity and stick it in there until summer and the NC humidity rolls in.
